I’d stayed some years before and had some recollection of the building. I needed a twin room but none were available and I opted for what, in effect, was a family room with a four poster bed and two singles. I didn’t mind paying for that for a little bit of extra comfort. I don’t want to raise unreasonable expectations and so should say that the building is old and has real character but is a little “tired “. We, however, found the beds comfortable, the hotel quiet and got a good nights rest. The TV and Wi-Fi both worked fine and there were three armchairs in the room. I mainly drink tea and we didn’t have many teabags in the room but when I asked for some, I was also offered fresh milk in a container, which made the tea so much better. One of the really good things about the stay was the breakfast. I don’t eat much meat and so didn’t have a traditional English breakfast but was able to get porridge together with smoked Haddock and egg. It was really good but when I commented on how good the marmalade with the toast was, the owner told me that it was home-made. Things like that can make a difference. My partner had a full English breakfast and she really enjoyed it. There were no problems parking.

We stayed here for only 1 night during our travels thru England and it was very nice. Graham was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and he showed us to our room in the Arthur Wing of this beautiful, old manor house. Our room was a bit dated in appearance but was spacious and comfortable. The bed and linens were very nice. The ensuite bathroom was bright and roomy but the shower was a bit tricky to operate with regards to regulating the water temperature and I burned my hand slightly. The breakfast served here was outstanding. It is made to order and features a varied selection of continental and cooked options, which were all delicious and plentiful. The location worked great for us to explore Glastonbury and Wells and we could see how this B&B would make a good central base from which you could do daytrips. The ease of car parking was an added bonus for us. We would recommend staying here.

The owner met us with a very warm welcome - even though we'd arranged a late check-in. The room was clean and comfortable - especially for the price. They seem to be very dog-friendly, too. However, the highlight for us was the breakfast (which was included in the room rate). It was astonishing! A range of choices, catering for vegetarians too, and high-quality ingredients. It was delicious. We've stayed in many places in Glastonbury, but we'll come back to this one (3 miles outside the main town) for that breakfast!

Charming character property that is within easy reach of Glastonbury. We were appreciated being able to check in later after our dinner in town. Graham was very friendly and super helpful. Our room was a lot bigger than we thought it would be with tall ceilings. The bed was very comfortable and the room had additional blankets in the wardrobe. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning! Compared to what’s in town this was an excellent find for a night’s stay. Absolute gem that is value for money.

This is an authentic Glastonbury hotel, an old Victorian building with lots of character. Our room even had a lovely balcony! We had a good night's sleep with an exceptional breakfast, porridge was amazing! Graham and Sue where lovely hosts! If you are looking for a modern boutique hotel then Meare Manor may not be for you however I myself love a modern boutique hotel but I would definitely stay at Meare Manor again and recommend the whole experience of it. Many thanks!
